Description
The Director for Allied Health Programs is responsible for the overall management, development, and delivery of non-credit Allied Health training programs, including but not limited to Nurse Aide, Medical Assisting, Medication Aide, Dialysis Technician, EKG Technician, Phlebotomy Technician, Home Care Aide, Healthcare Billing & Coding, etc. This role includes working with industry partners to meet workforce needs, academic planning, faculty coordination, student advising, enrollment management, and curriculum oversight to ensure effective instruction and program success. The Director may be responsible for substitute teaching as needed.
Examples of Duties
Develop, implement, and maintain Allied Health programs in accordance with industry standards and accreditation requirements. Develop and maintain Allied Health programs, including course records, scheduling, and instructor assignments. Assist in the training and professional development of Allied Health faculty. Update, maintain, and distribute course outlines and instructional materials. Coordinate and manage clinical site placements and relationships. Responsible for assessing, evaluating, and developing a plan for enrollment growth. Review and recommend textbooks, software, supplies, and equipment for instructional use. Support the creation and maintenance of program materials such as brochures, mailings, directories, and databases. Ensure compliance with college policies, NC Community College System standards, and applicable state and federal regulations. Serve as liaison with relevant regulatory agencies and accrediting bodies. Perform other duties as assigned. Maintain the technical competencies necessary to the job function.
Qualifications Qualifications Education AAS in a related field required, Bachelor's in related field preferred. Experience in Allied Health education, training, or administration.
Experience All applicants must have a minimum of 1 year of clinical or lab experience and provide verifiable and relevant professional experience in a workplace setting or demonstrated instructional/teaching environment. Skills and the Know-How The ideal candidate will demonstrate:
Strong leadership and organizational skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively with faculty and staff. Strong personal and professional integrity. A commitment to safety and regulatory compliance. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) or similar software. Experience with database systems and digital recordkeeping. Competency in using college email systems, websites, and other relevant computer applications. Ability to learn and adapt to new technologies and institutional platforms as required.
Other Necessary Requirements Must be able to work flexible hours that include day or evening and occasional weekend hours as necessary. Additional Information
Physical Demands The ability to perform all duties associated with the position including, but not limited to lifting, prolonged standing, sitting, bending, stooping, and operating or performing work with associated tools and machines.
