PGS Worldwide is actively seeking a skilled
Aircraft Component Technician
to support aircraft component repair and overhaul operations in
Trumbull, CT . This
1-year contract-to-hire
position is classified as a
safety-sensitive role
and will require participation in an FAA-approved Drug and Alcohol testing program.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with precision measuring instruments, component disassembly and assembly, and the ability to perform detailed mechanical repairs and modifications in accordance with FAA, CAA, and EASA standards.
Required Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent (required) 3+ years of hands-on mechanical or component repair experience Ability to work independently with limited supervision Proficient in the use of
precision measuring tools
(feeler gauges, dial indicators, micrometers, calipers) Skilled in
mechanical repair techniques , including filing, stoning, lapping, and polishing Experience with
power and hand tools
for drilling, sanding, riveting, and general component repair Ability to clearly document evaluation results and communicate repair requirements Knowledge of
FAA, CAA, and EASA
maintenance standards and compliance procedures Familiarity with
torque wrenches
and
SAC torque specification SS9300 Ability to
chemically treat repaired surfaces
per approved data U.S. Citizenship required due to program requirements Preferred Qualifications:
Completion of an
Automotive or Technical Trade School
program F irframe License
(preferred, not required) Previous experience performing aircraft component maintenance or overhaul Proficiency interpreting
component maintenance manuals, service bulletins, and engineering drawings Key Responsibilities:
Disassemble, clean, evaluate, and perform repairs, modifications, and reassembly of aircraft components Use measuring instruments to verify tolerances and ensure quality standards Drill, ream, tap, change studs, install heli-coils, bushings, and liners using proper mechanical techniques Accurately document work performed, repair findings, and parts disposition Follow all safety, environmental, and FAA regulatory requirements Collaborate with quality and engineering personnel to resolve technical issues Adhere to company policies, procedures, and corporate EH&S initiatives
