About the Role We are seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead high-impact transformation initiatives for a leading healthcare payer organization. This company delivers innovative health plan solutions and operates in a fast-paced, relationship-driven environment. The ideal candidate is a proactive, self-motivated leader who thrives in cross-functional settings and is comfortable navigating both business and technical landscapes. This role is part of a strategic program focused on system implementations and data migrations, requiring strong coordination across business units, IT teams, and external vendors. Youll be joining a collaborative culture where building internal networks and clear communication are key to success.
Job Description As a Senior Project Manager, you will oversee complex, multi-million-dollar projects using Agile and Scaled Agile methodologies. Youll work closely with business stakeholders, technology teams, and program leadership to ensure alignment of business activities with technology delivery. Your focus will be on driving outcomes, managing dependencies, and facilitating decision-making across diverse teams.
Key Responsibilities: Lead planning and execution of high-visibility transformation projects Develop and maintain project timelines, milestones, and critical paths Coordinate activities across business readiness, communications, process design, and technology delivery Facilitate alignment with external vendors and internal stakeholders Prepare and lead executive steering committee meetings Track progress of MVPs and report status to key stakeholders Manage risks, issues, and dependencies; escalate and resolve as needed Support financial tracking and ensure appropriate expenditures Partner with Product Management to ensure cross-functional alignment
Qualifications Required Qualifications Bachelors degree or equivalent experience in business, technology, or related field Minimum 5 years of project management experience, including 3+ years managing large-scale projects ($2M+) Experience in the healthcare payer industry Proven ability to lead system implementations and data migration initiatives Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills across all organizational levels Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) Hands-on experience with project management tools such as SmartSheet, Azure DevOps, Jira, or similar Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Project and Visio Ability to manage multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications Masters degree in business, technology, or related field Experience working with Agile Release Trains (ARTs) and Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) Background in provider-side healthcare operations Familiarity with ApptioTargetProcess (ATP), Rally, or VersionOne Experience in mentoring and coaching cross-functional teams
