About the Company / The Opportunity: Join a leading organization within the pharmaceutical industry dedicated to the contract manufacturing of active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs). The opportunity offers a collaborative environment where you will interact with experienced chemical engineers, chemists, and quality professionals to help advance pharmaceutical manufacturing from lab scale to commercial output.
Responsibilities: Collaborate with chemists to learn, translate, and develop chemical processes into actionable production instructions for plant operators. Support the scale-up of laboratory procedures to pilot plant operations, ensuring process efficiency and safety. Adapt and troubleshoot processes that do not scale as anticipated, working closely with operators and supervisors to resolve issues. Prepare and maintain required documentation such as batch records, specifications, hazard assessments, and safety review packages. Conduct safety meetings, oversee process execution, and review completed batch records to ensure compliance and accuracy. Coordinate regularly with chemistry and quality departments throughout production runs. Engage with external parties, including clients, vendors, and contractors, as needed for project requirements. Provide engineering support for ongoing pilot plant infrastructure and operational needs.
Requirements: B.S. or M.S. in Chemical Engineering, or B.S./M.S. in Chemistry with plant experience. 2+ years of relevant chemical processing or plant operations experience. Experience in a cGMP-regulated environment. Development troubleshooting and problem-solving ability. Prior experience preparing technical and safety documentation in a chemical plant. Experience working with APIs in a CDMO or CRO setting.
