The Communications Manager plans, coordinates, and executes marketing and communications projects that support organizational goals, employee engagement, and community outreach. The role develops and implements communication strategies, manages creative projects from concept through delivery, and partners with internal clients, vendors, and consultants to ensure effective, timely, and brand?aligned messaging. The manager oversees content and channelsincluding newsletters, memos, social media, podcasts, YouTube, website, and signageand serves as a point of contact for media, creative services, and project requests. Prerequisites Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, journalism, public relations, or a related field. Minimum of five (5) years experience in communications, public relations, and/or media; or a combination of education and related experience that substitutes for a degree. Experience writing and creating content for a community and/or patient audience preferred. Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, video creation/editing, and website CMS.
Qualifications
Demonstrated excellence in written, oral, and visual communication. Strong understanding of social media strategy and content development. Exceptional organizational and project management skills with the ability to prioritize, track, and deliver multiple initiatives simultaneously. Experience leading communication efforts in developing and implementing strategic plans that support organizational and Board objectives. Ability to facilitate the development and implementation of relevant messaging with strong creative input. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships across departments and with community partners. Capability to maintain confidentiality of patient, employee, and organizational matters. Media and social media savvy with creative writing, photography, and videography skills. Strategic thinking with attention to detail and independent judgment. Calm, professional, and solutionsoriented under pressure. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, video editing software, website CMS, and various social media tools/applications.
Essential Responsibilities & Competencies
Support communication and marketing priorities and activities. Develop, edit, and distribute content for internal and external channels: newsletters, memos, social media, blog, website, podcast, YouTube, signage, and collateral. Develop and execute communication plans to generate awareness and growth of new programs and services. Guide the organizations overall communications strategy by aligning messaging, content priorities, and channel use with organizational goals. Monitor engagement and recommend optimizations for reach and effectiveness. Ensure messaging is inclusive, clear, and appropriate for diverse audiences, including those with English as a second language. Write clearly and concisely in a variety of styles, e.g., social, patient testimonial, blog feature, website, and news writing. Maintain effective relationships with departmental leaders, staff, providers, and community?based organizations. Scope, schedule, and facilitate project meetings with clients; coordinate resources and vendors; manage projects from kickoff through completion. Maintain a database of current and archived marketing and communications projects. Partner with creative services, media agency, outreach, and philanthropy teams to develop integrated campaigns. Support strategic and crisis communication planning, including proactive media relations and social media strategies. Stay current with the latest social media and communication best practices and technologies. Consult with departments on effective messaging and brand alignment for the organization and community. Act as the point of contact for incoming marketing services requests. Collaborate with the communications and marketing team on employee and community engagement endeavors, including recognition, events, and fundraising. Communicate creatively to ensure key messages reach a large staff in diverse roles with limited email access. Act as Public Information Officer (PIO) backup as trained. Perform other related job duties as required.
