Primary Purpose: To aid in meeting District needs through the management of supply and services contracts while ensuring optimum value is obtained from expenditure of school district funds. Qualifications High school diploma or GED Must have an Associates Degree or have a minimum of 48 semester hours of higher education coursework or pass a district test

Special Knowledge/Skills

Ability to communicate with vendors and multiple District departments to facilitate effective and efficient results Proficient in the use of office productivity and bidding software Knowledge of law applicable to the expenditure of public funds Knowledge of District and department policies and procedures Demonstrate an ability to manage difficult projects Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos Excellent public relations, organization, communication, and interpersonal skills Ability to multi?task numerous complex administrative activities

Experience

Two (2) years of financial, budgetary, or administrative experience preferred Public purchasing experience preferred

Major Responsibilities and Duties Purchasing

Review purchases of all departments and campuses for compliance to law and adherence to published internal control procedures. Maintain thorough knowledge of district procurement procedures and state law. Initiate contacts with vendors relative to supply and equipment availability, invoices, purchase orders, and contracts. Obtain and study comparative prices and quotations. Keep informed of sources of supply and new product developments. Investigate quantity and quality of commodities purchased. Assist staff and user departments in resolving procurement problems. Prepare quote, bid, and proposal documents. Open and analyze bids/proposals and prepare recommendations for award by administration or Board of Trustees. Assist in the development and maintenance of procurement records, (i.e., vendor lists, commodity tracking reports, and files).

Seek professional learning opportunities. Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures. Maintain an appropriate level of technology competence to meet the current and future needs of Alief. Implement alternative methods of instruction as needed. Perform other duties as assigned.

Calendar Days: 235 Pay Grade: CSP6 2025?2026 Salary Range Min. $41,735 Mid. $49,932 Max. $58,134 (Based on previous experience) Salaries are determined by the number of completed and eligible years of service at an accredited school.
