Northrop Grumman is in need of a Machinist Level 3 to work at its Elkton, Maryland facility. Northrop Grumman Propulsion Systems and Controls (PS&C) facility in Elkton, Maryland began solid-propellant rocket operations in 1948. Today, the Elkton PS&C facility designs, develops, and produces solid-propellant propulsion and ordnance systems in programs professionally managed for a wide variety of government and commercial customers. The facility also serves as the hub for offsite engineering and test facilities in Ronkonkoma, NY and Palm Beach Gardens, FL. Elkton, Maryland is located on the Upper Chesapeake Bay, midway between Philadelphia and Baltimore. Discover charming small towns, parks with miles of trails, specialty and antique shops, award winning restaurants, and inns. You can hike, bike, camp, bird watch, ride horseback, or drop a fishing line. Five rivers, Chesapeake Bay and the C&D Canal can be explored by boat or by land. Experience panoramic views from Turkey Point Lighthouse on a bluff overlooking the Bay, or from the banks of the C&D Canal where ships from around the globe cruise. Sets up and operates a variety of machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, shapers, planers, and precision grinders to make metal parts, mechanisms, tools, or machines to exacting tolerances and dimensions. Interprets blueprints, sketches, and engineering specifications; determines sequence of operations, number of cuts required, and method of setup; uses a variety of machinist hand tools and precision measuring instruments; makes standard shop computations relating to dimensions of work, tooling, feeds, and speeds; measures, marks, and scribes dimensions and reference points to lay out stock for machining; fits and assembles precision parts into mechanical equipment and determines material, parts, and equipment required. Some machines may be numerically controlled. May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures. Typically requires completion of a formal apprenticeship or equivalent training and experience. This position will have a schedule of 5:00 am to 5:00 pm Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. You will be paid 40 hours for the 36 hours worked. Basic Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent education Minimum 4 years of experience working in a machine shop Must have the ability to interpret blueprints, sketches, GD & T, and other engineering specifications Must have working knowledge of shop floor mathematics and measuring tools/equipment Ability to set-up and operate a variety of machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, and grinders Must be able to use basic hand tool and precision measuring instruments Ability to lift up to 50lbs Candidate must have a willingness to learn and possess a positive team working attitude Excellent communication, problem solving and troubleshooting skills Candidate must demonstrate the ability to work safely and concern for the safety of others Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance which requires US Citizenship as a pre-requisite Preferred Skills:

Associates Degree Ability to program and set-up Mazak lathes, mills, and integrex machines Experience with Proto-Trak lathes and mills Experience with EDM equipment both wire and sinker Proficient in the use of hand measuring tools Proficient with hand grinders (grinding and polishing - surface prep) Assembly work Explosive training This position falls under a Federal Explosives License issued by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) for this location. Candidates hired into this role will be required to complete and submit an Employee Possessor Questionnaire to ATF for approval to be a possessor. Primary Level Salary Range: $56,600.00 - $94,400.00 The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
