Base pay range
$130,000.00/yr - $150,000.00/yr
Direct Counsel is seeking a Real Estate Attorney to join a well-established national company with a strong presence in the commercial real estate and title industry. This is a unique opportunity for an attorney who enjoys transactional work and wants to transition to (or continue) an in‑house role that offers both substantive work and a true work‑life balance. The company provides a collaborative, business‑oriented environment where attorneys play a critical role in managing and closing complex real‑estate transactions without the pressures of billable hours.
Key Responsibilities
Advise on commercial real estate transactions, including title review, underwriting, and related documentation. Identify and resolve complex title and transactional issues. Draft and interpret legal documents such as purchase agreements, leases, easements, and loan documents. Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure smooth, compliant transactions. Provide practical, business‑minded legal counsel to support company initiatives.
Qualifications
J.D. from an accredited law school; active license to practice law in the U.S. 3-8 years of experience in commercial real estate, ideally with exposure to title or underwriting matters. Strong drafting, analytical, and communication skills. Proactive and collaborative mindset with the ability to work cross‑functionally.
Compensation & Structure
Base salary: $130,000-$150,000 (commensurate with experience). Schedule: 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., approximately 40 hours per week. Hybrid flexibility: A few in‑office days per week required. Full benefits package and long‑term career growth potential.
