Fiber Construction Project Manager
Location:
Hybrid - Phoenix, AZ
Travel:
Regular in-market site visits and city meetings are required; minimal overnight travel.
Drive the build-out of next-generation fiber networks across the Valley.
Our client, a fast-growing telecom infrastructure developer, is scaling its Arizona program and needs a construction-savvy Project Manager to keep multiple outside-plant (OSP) builds on track. If you thrive on juggling schedules, permits, budgets, and stakeholder expectations-while seeing tangible network miles go live-this role offers the runway to shape a marquee market launch and grow into broader Southwest leadership.

Drive metro fiber build initiatives from inception to completion, spearheading site acquisition, network design, regulatory approvals, construction management, and project wrap-up to deliver results on time and within budget Facilitate weekly progress huddles with owners, utility partners, field supervisors, and subcontractors; surface risks early and drive corrective action. Serve as primary liaison to city planning and right-of-way departments, preparing compliant permit packages and securing approvals. Represent projects at public hearings, cultivating strong relationships with inspectors, zoning staff, councils, and neighborhood stakeholders. Direct external vendors and subcontractors, validating deliverables and enforcing quality, safety, and cost controls. Maintain meticulous documentation in the PMO system and issue clear status, financial, and close-out reports. Escalate critical blockers promptly to leadership to protect customer milestones. Skills & Experience
Hold a degree in a relevant field such as project management, technical sciences, or business administration, or possess equivalent professional experience that demonstrates expertise in managing construction projects 5+ years leading fiber or telecom construction projects, including hands-on permitting and OSP work. Proven ability to manage complex initiatives and deliver results. Ability to read civil prints and splice diagrams; proficiency with Microsoft Office; GIS/Google Earth familiarity a plus. Skilled at navigating and collaborating with public sector agencies through effective communication. Capacity for local travel around Phoenix and occasional regional trips (
