Network Design Engineer Duration: 6 month contract to hire Citizenship: US Citizen with active TS/SCI Top Skills (NO FLEX ON THESE) Juniper TS/SCI clearance willing to work onsite 5 days per week Position Description: Join a dynamic team as a Senior Network Design Engineer, where you’ll architect and optimize cutting-edge network solutions for enterprise and service provider environments. This role offers the opportunity to lead transformative projects, including SD-WAN migrations and datacenter integrations, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver secure, scalable, and high-performance network infrastructure. Design, implement, and manage enterprise and service provider networks, ensuring seamless integration with commercial ISPs (e.g., AT&T) and datacenter environments. Lead the design and deployment of Cisco-based SD-WAN solutions, transitioning from JUNOS platforms. Configure and optimize BGP, MPLS, and enterprise routing architectures for performance and reliability. Manage and troubleshoot WAN connectivity, ensuring high availability and performance tuning. Deploy and maintain secure VPN solutions, including site-to-site and IPsec tunnels over the Internet. Collaborate with diverse teams to translate business needs into resilient, scalable network designs. Document network configurations, designs, and operational procedures with clarity and precision. Provide advanced troubleshooting and resolution for complex, escalated network issues. CCNP (Cisco Certified Network Professional) or Juniper certification (JNCIP/JNCIE). 10+ years of proven experience working with commercial ISPs and integrating connectivity into datacenter environments. Hands-on experience with Juniper platforms (Cisco experience highly desirable). Demonstrated success in configuring and supporting VPN solutions, including site-to-site and IPsec tunnels. Strong knowledge of WAN link management and performance optimization. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
