Hollywood Golf Club is seeking a Director of Racquets (DOR) to lead our energetic and expanding racquets program with creativity, enthusiasm, and a genuine love for connecting with members of all ages and abilities. We're looking for an engaging, personable, and polished professional with a strong racquets background and a passion for building community through sport. The next DOR will be a visible, hands-on presence around the courts, someone who listens to members, embraces their ideas, and develops programs that reflect the spirit and traditions of Hollywood.

JOB DESCRIPTION The Director of Racquets is responsible for the overall operation of the department, including tennis and pickleball, pro shop, programming, and staff. Reporting to the Club's General Manager, the DOR is a highly visible position requiring a strong presence, leadership, and communication skills. The DOR is expected to be the leader of the program by passionately promoting the games of tennis and pickleball. These traits must resonate through his/her team as well. The working environment of the organization is one of professionalism and respect, and the Club prides itself on the positive relationships it maintains with its staff. Racquets program runs for approximately 6 months from mid-April to the end of October. DOR is expected to stay connected and involved in the planning and operation for the following season during the offseason.
RESPONSIBILITIES The general roles and responsibilities of the DOR will be to deliver a range of services customarily provided by a PTR Professional or Elite USPTA professional, with certification as a requirement. These services will include, but are not limited to: Ability to be a passionate ambassador for the games of tennis and pickleball. Assure consistent, efficient, and seamless daily operation of club-wide racquets operations; provide members and guests with an environment that meets the values of the club. Enthusiastically encourage member participation by planning events to promote racquet sports and fellowship in the Club. Organize, schedule, and manage tournaments, clinics, round robins, social events, and other racquets related activities to maximize members' access to and enjoyment of the racquets facilities. Create a comprehensive events and activities program to include social, competitive, and instructional programming for all levels. Develop and implement a top-notch junior program that caters to all junior abilities. This should be a comprehensive, creative, and innovative program. Must be proficient with the "USTA 10 and Under" initiative on how to instruct children. Oversee departmental programs and services to meet budget objectives and exceed member satisfaction. Create a teaching philosophy in line with the club's values and traditions. Implement that philosophy throughout the racquets programs. Ensure that the staff's teaching methodology is in line with the directors. Provide private and group lessons to both adults and children of varying skill levels and oversee lessons taught by all professionals. We expect that the DOR hours on court will be limited to 15 hours per week - during the summer months - to ensure ample time for effectively administering the department. Provide organizational and structural support for the league team tennis practice and play. Develop and introduce a fair and equitable way to manage the adult team programs to include annual player team movement, partnerships, and lineup. Play tennis and pickleball at a high level. Own, manage, and oversee high-quality merchandise and retail operation in the Racquets Pro Shop, representing the desires and expectations of the members. Oversee department POS operations to ensure accurate member billing and accurate sales/activity reports. Attend all senior staff, Racquets Committee, and some sub-committee meetings. Responsible for drafting the committee agendas in coordination with the general manager and respective committee chairs. Supervise all teaching professionals, pro shop staff, and seasonal interns (staff size of approximately 5-6 in season). Manage all staff scheduling and conduct regular staff meetings within the Racquets Department to ensure effective communication. Select, develop, and coach all department staff. Prepare racquets promotional items and event results for the website, Instagram, app, and e-mail blast. Oversee annual budget process, monthly financial performance, and weekly payroll management. Work in tandem with the club's highly regarded Racquets maintenance staff and assist as needed to ensure that the courts are in the best condition for Member play. Enforce all the Club's rules and regulations governing use of the facilities, equipment, dress code and sportsmanship as set for by the Club. The following positions report to the Director of Racquets:
5-6 seasonal assistant professionals. Pro Shop staff / seasonal counselors and junior staff. EDUCATIONAL & CERTIFICATION QUALIFICATIONS
A college degree from a 4-year accredited university (preferred), or equivalent working experience in the racquets industry. Minimum of 5 years of progressive leadership experience in a similar position at a private club or resort. Certified as a USTA, PTR, PPR or RSPA for tennis and pickleball. Knowledge of court maintenance, including Har-Tru, clay courts, hard-surfaced pickleball courts is preferred. SALARY AND BENEFITS

ABOUT HOLLYWOOD GOLF CLUB Hollywood Golf Club is a family-focused club nestled less than a mile from the Atlantic Ocean, in the town of Deal in Ocean Township, located in Monmouth County, New Jersey. Hollywood Golf Club is home to a well-renowned championship golf course designed by Walter J. Travis in 1917 and masterfully restored to its original intent by Tom Doak and Renaissance Golf Design in 2014 and racquet sports are a beloved and growing part of the member experience. Club's racquets facility includes 8 outdoor Har Tru Tennis Courts, 2 outdoor Hard Pickleball Courts, and a Clubhouse. The Club has approximately 460 Members in all categories and 150 -170 active Tennis and Pickleball players. Hollywood Golf Club is a Platinum Club of America and a Distinguished Club.
