About the role

Counsel Health is seeking a hands-on SVP of Engineering to lead the next phase of our growth, scaling our technology, people, and systems as we redefine the future of AI + human healthcare. This role combines strategic vision with deep technical leadership, owning the end-to-end delivery of Counsel's platform across full-stack and infrastructure domains.

You will shape the foundation of our engineering organization architecting scalable systems, building and mentoring exceptional teams, and driving the technical execution that powers our next stage of growth. You'll partner closely with Product, AI, Commercial, and Clinical teams to ensure our technology directly enhances patient outcomes and advances our mission.

What you'll be working on: Providing Hands On Leadership:

own the end-to-end delivery of Counsel's platform and engineering organization, spanning full-stack and infrastructure domains, combining strategic vision with hands-on execution to unblock engineers help the team scale effectively Scaling the Platform and Organization:

Work with the team to develop foundational systems, infrastructure, and processes that allow us to scale during our next stage of growth Building and Leading a High-Performing Team:

Recruit, develop, and retain top engineering talent.Strengthen a culture where engineers take ownership, stay accountable, and continually raise the bar Cross-functional Partnership:

Partner with AI, Product, Commercial, and Clinical teams to align engineering initiatives with patient experience and overall business strategy Executing with Velocity and Discipline:

Work to increase product velocity and reliability while maintaining the highest quality and best practices. Ensure the engineering org operates as a trusted, high-leverage partner to cross-functional teams Requirements:

7+ years of engineering leadership with demonstrated experience evolving engineering processes, architecture, and infrastructure through rapid growth stages Experience building or leading engineering in health-tech, digital health, or healthcare-adjacent environments Deep technical acumen, understanding what "great engineering" looks like and can coach teams to reach that standard Proven experience building high-performing engineering teams while acting as a hands-on leader who unblocks teams, enables autonomy, and raises the bar for excellence Strong collaborator who partners effectively with AI, Product, Commercial, and Clinical teams to translate company goals into executable technical plans Showcases strategic leadership by owning a compelling technical vision and roadmap that aligns with company objectives What we offer
