Position Summary

Assists with maintenance for vehicle fleet, equipment repair, record keeping and parts inventory as needed for the safe and economical operation of all company vehicles.

Essential Job Functions Performs routine preventative maintenance and makes repairs on company vehicles as assigned; maintains and updates Fleet software on each vehicle. Assists in maintaining inventory of maintenance equipment and supplies. Works with outside repair services when repairs cannot be made in-house. Ensures prompt service and high quality parts are installed by outside repair service. Keeps shop clean and in working condition. Maintain TCEC tools and equipment. Operates vehicles and equipment, including but not limited to bucket trucks, digger derricks and other TCEC vehicles to perform inspections, maintenance and repairs. Observes and practices all safety policies and bulletins. Certified and able to operate forklift. Maintain a clean driving record Position Requirements

Education

High school diploma or equivalent certificate required. Formal education in motor vehicle (all types) maintenance, mechanics, electrical or hydraulic systems is desirable.

Experience

5 years' experience in repair and maintenance of all types of automobiles and trucks. Servicing of aerial hydraulics systems such as those found on present TCEC equipment is required. Repair and maintenance of all types of gas, diesel engines and air brakes. Aerial devices, digger derricks, backyard machines, skid steers and mini-excavators

Language Skills

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common technical journals, safety materials, and other work-related documents. Must be able to write routine reports and correspondence, and to speak effectively to employees of the Cooperative.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Required

Air Brake Certified Air Conditioner Certified

Preferred

Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) or Diesel Engine Certified Hydraulics Certification Altec Certification

SKILLS/ABILITIES

Proficient with computers including various diagnostic systems, Fleet Software and Microsoft Office. Must be skilled in basic mechanical work including hydraulics and diesel engines. Must be skilled in diagnosing and installing electrical systems to include emergency lighting, radios and backup cameras. Must be able to work independently and to expedite work to meet time schedule. Must be able to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables. Must be able to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Must be able to add, subtract, and divide. Relationships

Reports to Fleet Manager Interacts with employees and vendors in performing mechanical functions and/or transportation logistics. Physical Demands
