Position Summary
We're seeking a dedicated and mechanically skilled
Core and Coil Assembler
to join our manufacturing team. In this hands-on position, you'll play a vital role in building the internal core and coil assemblies used in large-scale electrical equipment.
This position involves heavy mechanical work such as stacking steel laminations, positioning coils with an overhead crane, operating hydraulic presses, and crimping insulated copper cables. The ideal candidate demonstrates precision, teamwork, and a strong commitment to safety, quality, and craftsmanship.
Key Responsibilities
Safety First:
Follow all safety protocols and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
Organization:
Maintain a clean, orderly, and efficient workspace following 5S principles.
Team Collaboration:
Partner with leads, engineers, quality inspectors, and other departments to ensure flawless execution of assembly processes.
Technical Precision:
Read and interpret complex blueprints, technical drawings, and bills of material to assemble components with accuracy and alignment.
Material Handling:
Use overhead cranes and forklifts to move and position large components, fabrications, and assemblies safely.
Assembly Operations:
Set up stacking tables and install core setup components.
Stack steel laminations of various sizes to form the transformer core.
Position and secure coils using cranes, hand tools, and hydraulic equipment.
Press and align coils per engineering and quality standards.
Upend and transfer assembled cores to the next stage of production.
Inspection & Quality:
Perform cleanliness and contamination control procedures (vacuuming, magnetic sweeps, and tool cleaning) to maintain a controlled production environment.
Training & Development:
Assist in training new operators and continuously develop technical proficiency.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience:
Prior experience in heavy mechanical assembly, coil assembly, or electrical equipment manufacturing preferred.
Proficiency with hand tools, torque wrenches, hydraulic presses, cranes, and other industrial equipment.
Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of spatial layouts and alignment.
Ability to interpret detailed engineering drawings and technical documentation.
Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform repetitive physical tasks, including standing, bending, and climbing, throughout the shift.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
Work performed in a large-scale industrial manufacturing environment.
Frequent standing, walking, pushing, pulling, climbing, and lifting of heavy components.
Occasional work in elevated areas or confined spaces.
Exposure to mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical assembly tools and equipment.

Pay Details:
