Burns & McDonnell has an opportunity in our Transmission and Distribution (T&D) Group for a Project Manager with experience in the Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) of Transmission, Substation, Telecom and Distribution projects, located in Houston, Texas. The Project Manager will direct and coordinate bidding, negotiation, and project execution activities of several disciplines on EPC projects of moderate to large scope or a combination of smaller EPC projects.
Duties include direct coordination with clients, contractors, material suppliers, and other external stakeholders.
Additional responsibilities include supervision and coordination of multidiscipline engineering, permitting, procurement, and construction teams.
Responsible for overall project management, project planning, scheduling, resource management, budgeting and establishing and meeting critical project objectives.
Demonstrate creativity, foresight and mature judgment in anticipating and solving problems.
Identify opportunities and manage team efforts for submittals, proposals, presentations, contract negotiation, and related activities.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or related field from an accredited curriculum is preferred.
Demonstrated experience managing Transmission, Substation, Telecom and/or Distribution projects.
Minimum 7 years related experience.
Must have ability to deal effectively with a wide variety of project-related matters.
This position requires:
Proven ability to develop business and establish relationships with clients.
Excellent oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills. Must have the ability to clearly and effectively present complex information to all levels of employees, management, and clients.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
The ability to thoughtfully and positively influence, lead, and manage change.
Demonstrated success in project management.
The ability to deal effectively with a wide variety of industry, government and public contracts on project-related matters.
Proficiency in the use of basic computer software (i.e., Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Ability to travel approximately 30% of the time.
