We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess strong accounting skills with a focus on financial reporting and data analysis. This role requires collaboration across departments to ensure precise financial reporting.
Responsibilities
Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure accurate financial reporting.
Prepare, maintain, and develop schedules, reports, and analyses for internal and external customers.
Assist with the monthly close process.
Perform month-end activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, management reporting, SEC reporting, and variance analysis.
Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements.
Communicate and coordinate with company partners.
Process and analyze significant amounts of data, including issues and transactions.
Prepare and review FERC Form 3Q and Form 2 filings, as well as XBRL tagging.
Provide documentation and clear explanations for audit processes.
Participate in small projects with minimal mentorship and act as a resource for less experienced colleagues.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Essential Skills
Proficiency in accounting and general ledger functions.
Experience with month-end, SEC reporting, and financial reporting.
Knowledge of Oracle ERP and Power BI.
Ability to perform reconciliations, journal entries, and balance sheet analysis.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related major with a strong accounting focus.
4 to 8 years of accounting experience in the energy industry.
Experience in regulatory accounting, financial reporting, statement consolidation, and cash flow statement preparation.
Familiarity with US GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
Experience with Oracle ERP, Workiva, and similar applications.
Strong organizational, interpersonal, analytical, problem-solving, and financial skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
Work Environment
This position offers a hybrid work schedule, requiring in-office presence from Monday through Thursday, with the flexibility to work remotely on Fridays. The role is based in a large oil & gas company in Houston. The work environment promotes cross-functional communication and collaboration, with a strong emphasis on safety and effective teamwork.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $43.00/hr.
