Western New York's family club of choice, Orchard Park Country Club (OPCC) was founded in 1946 and is the second home to over 500 families. Nestled in the Southtowns of Buffalo, NY, the Club's gem is a Walter Travis golf course, known to test golfers of all abilities. In addition, the Club has thriving swim and racquet programs, and the Clubhouse provides robust a la carte and banquet spaces to accommodate the social aspect of our very tight knit Membership.

Preferred Skills & Qualifications
PGA Membership in good standing (Class A or B)
Minimum of three (3) years of experience as an Assistant Golf Professional or comparable leadership role
Proven tournament administration experience with proficiency in Golf Genius or similar tournament software
Strong business and financial acumen, including budgeting, forecasting, and inventory management
Demonstrated teaching and player development experience, with the ability to instruct players of all skill levels
Proficiency in golf operations and retail management systems, including point-of-sale and inventory control platforms
Familiarity with ForeTees, Golf Genius, and other club management software
Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills with a member-first service philosophy
Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a professional and approachable demeanor
Essential Responsibilities
Leadership & Oversight:
Provide daily leadership and supervision for all golf operations, including golf professionals, bag room attendants, outside services, and golf shop staff. Ensure professional presence and engagement at the bag drop and first tee throughout the day to welcome members and guests and ensure proper adherence to club rules, policies, and dress code standards.
Golf Operations Management:
Oversee all aspects of the bag room, cart storage, and outside services areas, ensuring that golf carts, clubs, and equipment are handled with care and that all areas are maintained in a clean and organized manner.
Practice Facility Management:
Maintain and supervise the daily upkeep of the practice facilities, including the driving range, chipping area, and putting greens, ensuring an exceptional practice experience for members and guests.
Staffing & Team Development:
Responsible for hiring, training, scheduling, and evaluating golf staff. Provide ongoing professional development, enforce accountability, and administer disciplinary action when necessary to maintain a high-performing team.
Retail Management:
Direct all golf shop merchandising functions, including the selection, ordering, display, and inventory control of both hard and soft goods. Manage vendor relationships and maintain product mix aligned with member preferences and club standards.
Tournament & Event Management:
Serve as the lead professional for all member tournaments, club championships, and Monday golf outings. Coordinate event planning, course setup, scoring, and communication to ensure a professional and enjoyable experience for participants.
League Administration:
Organize and oversee weekly in-season golf leagues, including the Men's League, 9-Hole Ladies League, and 18-Hole Ladies League, ensuring consistent communication, fair play, and smooth operations throughout the season.
Financial Management:
Manage a comprehensive golf operations budget of approximately $1 million, encompassing golf shop sales, greens fees, and cart rentals. Ensure fiscal responsibility, accurate reporting, and adherence to Club financial policies.
Member Engagement:
Track and manage member sweep credits and account balances. Lead new member golf orientation programs to ensure integration into the Club's culture, policies, and golf activities.
Service Excellence:
Promote a high level of member and guest satisfaction through professionalism, accessibility, and attention to detail. Maintain strong visibility across the golf operation, ensuring consistent service standards and a welcoming, first‑class golf experience.
Benefits Compensation & Benefits
Base Compensation | Salary $75,000–$90,000
Golf Shop Commission | Percentage of Net Sales (approx. $30,000 annually)
Lesson Income | In Addition to Salary & Golf Shop Commission
