Assistant Golf Professional: Knollwood Country Club
Reports to: Head Golf Professional Facility Type: 18-hole, Private, Member Owned, Equity. 12 Month (year round) 5 Day Work Week
The Club Knollwood Country Club is a premier, private country club in West Bloomfield, Michigan that is rooted in rich tradition dating back to 1925. The Club recently completed a multi-million-dollar golf course renovation in 2025 and is currently undergoing a clubhouse renovation. Our culture blends tradition with innovation, offering a supportive environment where staff and members build a lasting connection through the game of golf.
The Opportunity The Assistant Golf Professional will be a part of a professional staff that values mentorship, growth and career development. He or she will gain exposure to all facets of the golf operation, including tournament management, merchandising, instruction and member engagement.
The successful candidate will be passionate about growing the game of golf and delivering outstanding member service. They will be team oriented with strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
Experience Required Required
Class A PGA Member or PGA Associate working towards their Class A
Strong Interpersonal and Communication Skills
Preferred
Minimum of two years working as an assistant at a private country club
Essential Responsibilities Daily Operations & Services
Must deliver warm, professional service to the members and guests on the golf course, range and in the golf shop
Provide support for the golf shop operations, including point of sale (Jonas), merchandise sales, special orders and inventory
Tournaments and Member Programs
Knowledgeable in Golf Genius Tournament Software for scoring, communications and reporting
Assist in planning, executing all club golf events including Ladies League, Men's League, Couples nights
Having pride in their work for every single event we run at the Club.
Instructional & Player Development
Support the professional staff in conducting private lessons, clinics and junior golf
Continue personal development in teaching methodology and player engagement
Professional Development
Represent the Club in Chapter and Section Events
Entertain members in Chapter and Section Pro-ams
Continuing education within the PGA
