The purpose of this position is to provide a continuum of victim support from crisis through investigation and judicial processes. Provide crisis intervention, medical and legal advocacy, and emotional support. Examples of Duties

Serves as a first point of contact to victims of crime who experience trauma and provides education on the complexities of the criminal justice process. Provides a continuum of victim support from crisis through investigation and judicial processes within a law enforcement environment. Provides emotional, physical, and financial support to victims of crime. Provide access to the criminal justice system and support agencies. Responds to call outs to crime scenes (including evenings, weekends, and holidays) or other locations to provide crisis intervention, support and advocacy services. Maintains contact and communication with victims and witnesses during the investigation, prosecution, and judicial proceedings. Maintains case files with documented case notes and services. Responsible for managing client flow (timely customer service, client support, and de-escalation as needed), and directing victims and witnesses to the appropriate staff or agency. Performs general administrative duties as requested in various capacities, including administrative projects and operations from the victim services professionals within the Victim Services Unit. Performs related work as assigned. Minimum Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice, Social or Human Services, Psychology or related discipline. One (1) year of social services, counseling, or victim advocacy experience or

an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Other Minimum Qualifications

Must not have been convicted of a felony. (Misdemeanor convictions will be considered on an individual basis.) Must submit to a pre-employment drug screening. Must submit to a pre-employment polygraph test. Must possess and maintain a valid state driver's license with an acceptable driving history. Must provide one's own source of transportation. Must work a varied schedule. Applicants who have illegally bought or used marijuana, including medicinal cannabis, within six months of application will be disqualified. Applicants who have illegally sold marijuana, including medicinal cannabis, within one year of application will be disqualified. Applicants who have illegally bought, sold, or used any controlled substance or narcotic drug, other than marijuana, without a prescription within six years of application will be disqualified. Please note that this position requires an Oral Exam as part of the selection process. Qualified applicants will be provided with more details about the Oral Exam.

Physical Demands Performs sedentary work that involves walking or standing some of the time and involves exerting up to 10 pounds of force on a regular and recurring basis or sustained keyboard operations.

Unavoidable Hazards (Work Environment) Involves routine and frequent exposure to:

Bright/dim light; Dusts and pollen. Extreme heat and/or cold; Wet or humid conditions. Extreme noise levels, Animals/wildlife. Vibration; Fumes and/or noxious odors. Traffic; Moving machinery.
