Job Summary We are seeking experienced
Carbon Accounting & Scope 1-3 Emissions Specialists
for project-based consulting engagements. This flexible opportunity allows you to lead cutting-edge carbon intelligence projects while building your consulting practice through association with our brand and thought leadership initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Lead comprehensive greenhouse gas inventories across all emission scopes using GHG Protocol standards and advanced carbon accounting methodologies
Develop complex Scope 3 emissions tracking strategies including supply chain analysis, value chain assessments, and upstream/downstream emissions quantification
Design and implement Science-Based Targets Initiative (SBTi) aligned carbon reduction roadmaps and net-zero transition pathways
Execute carbon footprint assessments with emphasis on data collection, emission factor development, and calculation methodology deployment
Conduct materiality assessments to identify and prioritize carbon-related risks and opportunities
Coordinate with third-party verifiers and assurance providers for GHG inventory validation
Support regulatory compliance including CSRD, TCFD, and SEC Climate Disclosures
Provide strategic guidance to executive leadership on carbon management and climate strategy
Contribute to thought leadership content and client-facing materials (optional)
Required Qualifications
5+ years demonstrable experience in carbon accounting, GHG inventories, or environmental consulting
Expert-level proficiency with GHG Protocol Corporate Standard, Scope 2 Guidance, and Scope 3 Value Chain Standards
Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Sustainability, or quantitative field
Strong project management and organizational skills to meet reporting deadlines and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Advanced analytical skills with ability to synthesize quantitative and qualitative ESG data
Executive communication skills with ability to present complex ESG concepts to C-suite and board-level audiences
Collaborative approach with commitment to sustainability values and ethical practices
Experience coordinating multi-stakeholder assessments and tight deadline delivery
Preferred Qualifications
Professional certifications: EP(GHG), ISO 14064 Lead Verifier, or equivalent carbon management credentials
Certified Sustainability (ESG) Practitioner or ESG Data Specialist Certificate
Regulatory expertise including CSRD, TCFD, SEC Climate Disclosures, and emerging ESG legislation
Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) expertise for product-level environmental impact evaluation
Industry knowledge in energy, technology, manufacturing, or financial services sectors
Stakeholder engagement expertise across internal teams, external partners, and third-party verifiers
Change management experience supporting organizational sustainability transformations
Biodiversity management and ecosystem impact assessment capabilities
