Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Orthopedic Surgery Discipline: RN Start Date: ASAP Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, days Employment Type: Travel RN Position Job Notes: Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2 years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity: RN - Orthopedics Job Details: • Work on J6 Orthopedics unit with 32 individual patient rooms • Day shift patient ratio 5:1 (6:1 stretch), Night shift patient ratio 6:1 (7:1 stretch) • Every other weekend schedule required • Float to other Med-Surg units as needed • Required certifications: NC License, BLS • Hospital experience preferred, Orthopedic experience preferred • Perform typical procedures including dressing changes, suture/staple removal, Foley catheter insertion, NG tubes, wound vac maintenance and removal • Work with equipment including walkers, bedside commodes, bladder scanners, CPM, sky lifts, Sara Stedy, Sara Lift, Maxi Move, vital sign machines, hover mats, bair huggers, and wheelchairs • Use Cerner EMR system • Dress code: Navy scrubs for RNs • Must be a team player with ability to adapt to fast-paced environment and provide compassionate patient care Facility: This flagship hospital is licensed for 815 beds and serves as the region's referral center featuring the only Level II trauma center, comprehensive stroke center, and Level III neonatal intensive care unit.
