SUMMARY OF CLIENT'S DESCRIPTION OF THIS OPPORTUNITY
Plan, prepare, and deliver instructional activities that facilitate active learning experiences
Communicate with the site director administration, fellow teachers, service staff, parents and guardians
Create a positive and inclusive learning environment conducive to the intellectual, social, and emotional development of all students
Develop lesson plans and instructional materials aligned with curriculum standards and objectives
Work with parents and other community members to meet student learning need
Be alert & implement a variety of teaching strategies to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities
Assess student learning through ongoing observation, evaluation, and feedback
Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and other stakeholders to support student achievement and well-being
Attend and participate in professional development activities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge; provide instruction of students by developing, selecting and modifying instructional plans and material and presenting them using instructional techniques which meet the needs of all students
Adhere to professional standards and ethical guidelines as outlined by state and district policies
CLIENT'S REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Valid teaching certification/license in the state of Washington DC;
Demonstrated knowledge of instructional best practices and educational theories;
Experience in writing and monitoring IEPs and communicating with families and service providers to support students; excellent knowledge and understanding of the teaching and learning process
Experience working with diverse student populations is preferred
Commitment to ongoing professional growth and development
Bachelor's degree in Education or related field
