Pay Rate:

$75,000- $85,000 / Annually dependent on applicable experience

Addison Group is supporting the search for a

Senior Payroll Specialist

on behalf of a mission-driven organization based in Inver Grove Heights. This opportunity is ideal for someone who enjoys managing the details of payroll processing across multiple states while partnering with HR and Finance to ensure everything runs smoothly.

The right person for this role will bring strong technical payroll expertise, a proactive mindset, and the ability to handle complexity with accuracy and care. It’s a great fit for someone who values both process and people, balancing compliance with collaboration.

What you’ll be doing:

Process multi-state payroll for a large and diverse employee group

Administer garnishments, deductions, and payroll taxes in full compliance with state and federal laws

Partner with HR, Accounting, and leadership to troubleshoot payroll discrepancies and provide top-tier support

Reconcile payroll-related accounts and assist with audits, quarter-end, and year-end processes

Identify and implement process improvements for greater accuracy and efficiency

Support and maintain the

Workday payroll system.

Experience with Workday is highly desired

Qualifications:

Experience with Workday, ADP, or similar enterprise-level systems (Workday strongly preferred)

5+ years of payroll experience, including multi-state processing and tax administration

Strong understanding of garnishments, deductions, and wage & hour compliance

Solid Excel skills with the ability to manage large data sets

Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities

Detail-oriented and dependable, with a high degree of confidentiality and accuracy
