Description We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee financial operations at a plant in Wilmington, Massachusetts. This contract position involves managing key accounting activities and providing strategic financial support to the plant's leadership team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting principles and a commitment to maintaining compliance and accuracy in financial practices. Responsibilities:
- Supervise and develop the accounting team, ensuring roles are clearly defined and fostering growth and attention to detail.
- Provide financial guidance and mentorship to the plant's leadership and finance teams.
- Ensure compliance with organizational accounting standards and principles.
- Monitor internal controls and implement measures to improve financial accuracy and security.
- Lead the planning and coordination of the plant's annual budget.
- Oversee month-end and year-end financial reporting and associated activities.
- Support inventory control processes and ensure adherence to compliance regulations.
- Manage production manufacturing variances and ensure accurate reporting.
- Maintain customer pricing files and collaborate with controllers to address pricing for major volume customers.
- Build strong working relationships with colleagues and stakeholders to facilitate smooth operations. Requirements - Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting or financial management roles.
- Proficiency in month-end close processes and general ledger management.
- Experience with financial statement audits and account reconciliations.
- Strong skills in preparing and reviewing journal entries.
- Proven ability to manage budgets and analyze financial performance.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication and leadership abilities.
- Familiarity with inventory control procedures and compliance standards.
