Corporate Accounting Manager — Alternative Asset Manager | Houston, TX
A leading global alternative asset management firm is seeking a Corporate Accounting Manager to oversee accounting and financial reporting across its U.S. entities. The firm provides lending and structured finance solutions across private and public credit markets and manages capital on behalf of institutional investors worldwide.
Position Overview
This role will be responsible for managing the corporate accounting function, ensuring accurate reporting, strong internal controls, and seamless coordination across departments and third-party providers. The ideal candidate is a CPA with both public accounting experience and a strong understanding of complex, multi-entity corporate structures.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day corporate accounting operations and manage coordination with third-party accounting resources.
- Review and approve journal entries, accruals, prepaids, and fixed-asset schedules.
- Prepare monthly management reports with analysis on variances, trends, and performance drivers.
- Support cash flow forecasting, budgeting, and cost allocation across multiple business lines.
- Review and process reimbursable expenses between the management company and affiliated entities.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure compliance with GAAP, IFRS, and internal policies.
- Manage the preparation of audit support schedules and liaise directly with external auditors.
- Assist in the consolidation and reporting of financial statements for multiple U.S. entities.
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Qualifications
- CPA preferred, public accounting experience required.
- Strong technical accounting foundation with working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and IFRS.
- Advanced Excel skills; familiarity with systems such as NetSuite, SAP Concur, or Kyriba a plus.
- Exceptional communication, organization, and analytical skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced, growth‑oriented environment.
