AECOM
is seeking a
Civil Engineer V – Transit/Rail
to be based in
Oakland, CA . This is a key position within our West Region and will report to the
US West Region Transit/Rail Engineering Department .
JOB SUMMARY
This position includes responsibility for
project management and delivery
of transit studies, preliminary engineering, and final design of
transit infrastructure projects
including
Bus Rapid Transit (BRT), Light Rail Transit (LRT), Streetcar, Commuter Rail, Heavy Rail, and High-Speed Rail
across the western United States.
Clients may include
LA Metro, ACE, BART, Caltrans, RTD,
among others. The successful candidate may serve as an
AECOM team and/or discipline lead, project manager, and/or technical task leader
on selected projects, and will work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams across the
AECOM US West Region .
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Performs specific and moderate portions of broader assignments under the direction of senior staff.
Gathers and correlates engineering data using established and well-defined procedures.
Works on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving calculations, designs, and analyses.
Proposes approaches to solve new technical challenges by modifying standard procedures or leveraging prior project experience.
Identifies and resolves discrepancies or conflicts in design deliverables.
Provides guidance and mentorship to entry-level engineers and junior staff.
Independently performs all tasks necessary to complete primary design elements for complex transit engineering projects.
Ensures work is completed within
budget, scope, and schedule
parameters with minimal supervision.
Participates in
client coordination, quality control, and risk management
reviews.
Qualifications: Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related field +
8 years of relevant experience
or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
Preferred Qualifications:
10+ years of progressive experience in
transit and rail design and project management .
Professional Engineer (PE) license
in California or ability to obtain within a reasonable timeframe.
Proven experience with
client engagement and proposal preparation.
Experience in
designing and managing large-scale transit and transportation infrastructure projects.
Proficiency in
MicroStation
and
CAD
design software.
Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams.
Experience managing
task budgets, schedules, and deliverables.
Familiarity with
MS Office
applications and project management tools.
Experience providing
Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC)
on complex design and engineering deliverables.
