This position is responsible for designing the electrical power distribution system for the auxiliary equipment of our Gas Turbine projects. Our voltage levels are primarily in the low-voltage side (600V and below) with implementation of equipment such as MCCs, Panelboards, LV Transformers, DC Systems and Batteries.
Requirements
Perform calculations, sizing of equipment (i.e.: breakers, overload devices, relays), sizing of cables/conduits/equipment spacing, illumination level calculations, maintaining BOM’s, and other design duties required by complexity of project.
creating installation procedures, going from foundation to installation of equipment, revising and updating procedures
reviewing drawings, piping and instrumentation diagrams, reviewing schematics, reviewing single line diagrams (electrical drawings), general arrangement drawings, need to know standards codes
Interpret and integrate design requirements from parent company.
Interpret and respond to technical inquiries from customer, vendors and field personnel.
Use of SmartPlant Electrical (SPEL); SmartPlant Instrumentation (SPI) and SmartPlant 3D (S3D) to design electrical power and control systems. Experience with similar database driven software will also be considered.
Possess working knowledge of electrical design system for industrial facilities.
Preferred to have experience in working with Generators (150 MVA ratings and above) for Gas or Steam Turbines with its Auxiliaries
