Consolidate inbound and outbound orders into shipments to maximize load efficiency. Coordinate shipments between internal and external customers. Assigns inbound and outbound shipments to core Carriers based on cost and service. Understand the ramifications of service failures to the entire supply chain.
Independently consolidates inbound and outbound orders into shipments that meet department trailer fill goals. Distributes shipments to core Carriers meeting preferred Carrier goals. Maximizes backhaul percentages ensuring optimal efficiency and cost savings.
Determines which inbound and outbound loads should be given to Leasing Carrier or given to a Contract Carrier as a continuous move.
Responsible for making sure that the Carriers, Purchasing, and Vendors have accurate information regarding all aspects of the inbound and outbound shipments. Collaborate with Customer Service Associate in regards to customer deliveries. Drive individual customer performance measurements; including on time delivery, cube out/weigh out on shipments, and proactive communication. Act as a resource in Logistics for all internal customers.
Reports and tracks damaged product and ingredients. Work with the carriers, the freezer, and purchasing to help determine the root cause of the damage. Files claims against the Carriers when fault is determined. Implement procedures with Carriers to minimize damages.
Maintain accurate receiving information on consignees in the TMS system. Set delivery appointments on leased shipments.
Creates monthly report from the TMS system showing total percentage of shipments by carrier to determine department goal attainment.
Consistently looks to improve Total Cost of Ownership in a spirit of Continuous Improvement by collecting information, analyzing, recommending, communicating, and executing reduction in waste. Challenging the status quo by analyzing lanes and examining carrier networks.
Back up to the Administrative Assistant who is responsible for freight allocation on Contract Carrier invoices and tracks detention and invoice inaccuracies. Analyze reefer unit downloads on shipments in compliance with SQF. Work the assigned on call weekends.
