VALiNTRY is seeking an MRI Technologist to perform high-quality MRI exams in accordance with company policies and departmental procedures.
Pay Range $30.00 to $40.00 per hour, This position can compensate more depending on additional skills set that can be more valuable to the enterprise, don't hesitate to apply if you're a strong technical fit for this position.
Responsibilities:
1. Patient Preparation and Exam Setup
Confirm the correct examination by reviewing protocols, exam orders, prior reports, and patient history; initial all related documentation. Prepare patients for exams, including obtaining consent and administering sedation and/or oral or IV contrast as required. Set up coils and linens, ensure exam room readiness, and review patient screening forms both before calling the patient back and again just prior to the exam. Verify safety for patients and visitors entering the MRI room; follow MRI safety policy for any concerns. Research medical implants, devices, or foreign bodies when needed, documenting findings in the RIS system. Address patient questions and concerns professionally. Accurately enter patient demographics and exam information into the MRI system. Request and review outside films, reports, and surgical notes when necessary. Ensure all clinical information, requisitions, and screening forms are scanned and legible. 2. Exam Execution and Quality Assurance
Initiate and complete MRI exams, document technologist notes and contrast details in the RIS. Position patients correctly, select appropriate coils, and administer contrast if required. Provide clear communication and reassurance to patients throughout the procedure. Assist patients safely off the table and complete closing procedures. Maintain accountability for standard protocols and ensure imaging parameters and coverage meet ACR and XRANM standards. Review images for quality, ensuring complete anatomical coverage and minimal artifacts or motion. Gather additional clinical notes or history when needed and consult with the Manager, Technical Director, or Radiologist on protocol questions. Assist in training new technologists and tech assistants as required. 3. Quality Control, Operations, and Support
Perform weekly ACR QA tasks and report any values outside acceptable limits to the Field Engineer for immediate action and documentation for Physicist review. Assist with annual ACR System Performance checks and accreditation processes. Send images to PACS and ensure they are properly displayed for physicians; follow physician courier lists for CD or film distribution. Maintain inventory, restock supplies and contrast materials, and ensure exam rooms remain clean and organized. Monitor equipment for proper operation and coordinate with physicians, peers, CSRs, vendors, and Managers to ensure smooth MRI operations. Report imaging artifacts to the Technical Director via call or email. Provide coverage at other facilities when needed and accommodate same-day add-on exams when required. Education, Experience, and Licensure Requirements
Knowledge of the Windows Operating System. IV certification and CPR certification required. Licensed in the State of New Mexico as an MRI Technologist. Certified through ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) or ARMRIT (American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists). Working knowledge of anatomy and physiology, particularly cross-sectional anatomy. Familiarity with office procedures, patient scheduling, and XRANM medical record systems. Proficiency in MRI equipment operation and image acquisition. Ability to lift and assist patients during transfers. Ability to multitask and navigate RIS software efficiently. Ability to recognize pathology and escalate findings appropriately. Strong communication skills with physicians, staff, and patients. Ability to provide patient comfort, answer questions clearly, and maintain professionalism. Commitment to maintaining HIPAA privacy and security standards per XRANM policy to protect PHI and ensure minimal necessary use.
