Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Human Resources Director to lead and manage the HR function across a medium-sized, multi-site manufacturing company. This pivotal role will support approximately 300 employees across 4 manufacturing locations. The ideal candidate will be based in Salt Lake City, Utah, working in a hybrid capacity with 40% travel to support site-level HR needs.
The HR Director will be responsible for overseeing core HR functions including talent acquisition, benefits and payroll administration, employee relations, compliance, and culture development. The successful candidate will bring strong experience working with Workday HRIS, LinkedIn Recruiter, and other modern recruitment platforms.
Key Responsibilities: HR Leadership & Strategy Partner with senior leadership to develop and execute HR strategies aligned with company goals. Lead and manage HR operations across all sites, ensuring consistent policies and practices. Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning Drive end-to-end recruitment processes using tools such as LinkedIn Recruiter and Workday. Partner with hiring managers to forecast staffing needs and build robust talent pipelines. HR Systems & Reporting Administer and optimize Workday for core HR functions including recruitment, onboarding, and employee data management. Develop and maintain HR dashboards, reports, and metrics to support data-driven decisions. Payroll & Benefits Administration Oversee accurate and timely processing of payroll and benefits programs in collaboration with finance/payroll teams. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll and benefits regulations. Employee Relations & Compliance Serve as a trusted advisor to employees and managers on HR policies, procedures, and conflict resolution. Ensure legal compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws. Culture & Engagement Lead initiatives to support a positive, inclusive, and high-performing company culture. Develop and implement employee engagement, recognition, and retention programs. Team Management Manage, mentor, and support two HR direct reports. Foster collaboration and alignment across all HR team members and site-level partners. Additional responsibilities Establish, maintain, and communicate Human Resource policies to internal customers. Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, values, and the company's Code of Conduct. Efficiently and effectively deliver HR services in line with company's standards and statutory requirements. Audit compliance with HR systems, policies, and procedures, make improvement recommendations, and ensure corrective actions are implemented and monitored. Utilize HR data and analytics to drive informed decision-making, measure the effectiveness of HR programs, and provide insights for continuous improvement. Create and present HR data in an effective and efficient manner to groups including senior management. Manage onboarding processes. Design and manage compensation and benefit plans. Conduct investigations and oversee personnel record management when necessary. Promote and manage effective leadership, performance management, career development, and succession planning for HR team personnel. Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field;
HR certification (PHR/SPHR, SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP)
preferred. 5-8+ years
of progressive HR experience, with at least
2 years in a multi-site manufacturing environment . Demonstrated expertise with
Workday
and modern recruitment tools such as
LinkedIn Recruiter . Strong working knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and HRIS systems is essential, as is the ability to learn new software quickly. Strong knowledge of
payroll ,
benefits administration , and
HR compliance . Proven success in driving
culture change and employee engagement
programs. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a hands-on, collaborative approach. Comfortable with a
hybrid work model
and ability to travel up to
40%
