Job Description Job Title: Radiologic Technologist Profession: Radiologic Technologist Specialty: Computed Tomography Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Monday - Friday Hours per Shift: 12.5 hours Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience working in this position in a hospital setting License: Must be registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) and the advanced registry in Computed Tomography (CT) or registry-eligible Certifications: BLS Certification from AHA

Must-Have: - Associates degree in Applied Science in Radiology - Prior experience working in a fast-paced environment and independently - Strong people skills and communication - Peripheral IV insertion experience or willingness to obtain training

Description: Under general supervision, specializes in the performance of computerized tomographic radiological procedures on patients. May perform general diagnostic radiology examinations. Explains examination procedures to patients and prepares patients for the examination. Reviews clinical data on requisition and performs appropriate examinations. Obtains additional information about the patient's medical history as necessary. Prepares the procedure room and regularly replenishes stock such as linen and related supplies. Analyzes anatomical structures of patients, sets up equipment, and performs the CT scan. Manually controls the equipment to obtain the proper diagnostic information from the area of the body being studied. Administers intravenous contrast media, including utilization of power injectors. Monitors patients for possible reactions as appropriate to the study and provides immediate care to patients if a reaction occurs. May prepare and set up sterile equipment, monitors, and supplies required for the procedure. Ensures that adequate supplies are on hand and properly stored. Assists in performing complex sterile diagnostic procedures such as biopsies. Performs all imaging procedures by demonstrating principles of radiation protection. Resolves any image exceptions and ensures high-quality image delivery into systems. Completes all study indexing including study begin, study end, and study completion in the information system. Reviews and confirms clinical protocols with a Radiologist before performing studies. Demonstrates team member standards of excellence including open communication, displaying a positive attitude, and respecting diversity. Performs all necessary documentation in the medical record and the radiology information system to support clinical and billing functions. May work in a fixed unit or in an ambulatory mobile unit. May be potentially exposed to radiation if proper precautions are not utilized. May be exposed to high-voltage equipment and potentially contagious patients. Occasionally may lift and/or move equipment and/or patients that exceed 10 lbs. Must meet or exceed core customer service responsibilities, standards, and behaviors. Must possess personal qualities such as being self-directed, flexible, and committed to teamwork. Demonstrates customer service values and accepts and respects diversity without judgment.
