YOUR OPPORTUNITY:
A Laundry Operations Maintenance Technician with boiler, chiller, dry cleaning machine, and industrial washer/dryer systems installs, maintains, and repairs heating and cooling systems, which includes performing routine inspections, diagnosing and fixing malfunctions, and ensuring system efficiency and safety compliance. This role requires strong mechanical and electrical skills, knowledge of refrigerants and control systems, and the ability to troubleshoot problems and maintain detailed logs. Installs maintain, and repair commercial laundry equipment, diagnosing and fixing both mechanical and electrical issues to ensure efficient operation. Key responsibilities include performing routine inspections, troubleshooting problems, replacing parts, and keeping detailed maintenance records. This role requires strong troubleshooting, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to follow safety protocols while working with heavy machinery.
Here's How You'll Make an Impact:
Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on distribution equipment, boiler, chiller, industrial washer/dryer and drycleaning equipment to minimize downtime. Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic systems, boiler, chiller, and industrial washer/dryer systems. Inspect, test, and diagnose equipment issues using schematics and manuals. Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, controls, and automated machinery components. Operate machine tools and welding equipment to fabricate or repair parts. Maintain building infrastructure, including plumbing, carpentry, and structural repairs. Document maintenance activities and communicate issues to supervisors. Uphold safety standards and maintain a clean, organized work area. What You'll Bring to the Table:
Associate's degree or technical training preferred; equivalent experience considered. Minimum 1 year of industrial maintenance experience; 7+ years preferred for advanced troubleshooting roles. Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, boiler/chiller and drycleaning systems. Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals. Skilled with use in diagnostic tools, PLCs, and fabrication equipment. Proficient in Microsoft Office; able to learn new technology systems. Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills. Safety-first mindset and ability to work independently. Key Responsibilities
System maintenance: Conduct routine preventative maintenance on boilers, chillers, piping, and associated equipment.
Troubleshooting and repair: Diagnose and repair malfunctions in mechanical, electrical, and refrigeration components.
Performance monitoring: Monitor and adjust controls, gauges, and other instruments to optimize system performance and efficiency.
Safety and compliance: Adhere to strict safety and environmental regulations, including those for high-pressure systems and refrigerant handling.
Documentation: Keep accurate service and repair logs.
Component testing: Test various components for pressure, temperature, resistance, voltage, and other characteristics.
Parts and equipment: Maintain an inventory of spare parts and tools, and assist with energy audits.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude. Proficiency with diagnostic and repair tools. Experience with boiler and chiller systems, and their associated piping, pumps, and motors. Knowledge of refrigeration systems and universal refrigerant handling certification (for chiller work). Knowledge of industrial washer/dryer and drycleaning machine repair. Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics. Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities. Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety standards. Physical ability to work in various conditions, potentially including heights and cramped spaces. Physical Demands/Work Environment
Regularly required to stand, walk, and move throughout production areas for extended periods (up to 10-12-hour shifts). Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, twisting, and climbing ladders or equipment platforms to access machinery. Regular use of hands and arms to handle tools, parts, and maintenance equipment; reaching overhead and in tight spaces. Ability to regularly lift and/or move objects up to 10 pounds, frequently up to 25 pounds, and occasionally up to 50 pounds unassisted. Close vision required for reading schematics, parts, and performing detailed repairs; ability to distinguish colors for wiring and indicators; adequate hearing to detect machine malfunctions and alarms. Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts, noise levels from moderate to high, vibration, dust, and occasional exposure to chemicals, fumes, or airborne particles. May occasionally work at heights or in confined spaces, and be exposed to outdoor weather conditions, including extreme heat or cold, when performing building maintenance tasks. Ability to wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, steel-toe shoes, gloves, hearing protection, and respiratory protection if necessary.
