Primarily day shifts Monday-Friday, with additional hours as needed
DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION
The Associate Director will lead a subset of UW Medicine's Digestive Health, Endoscopy and Bronchoscopy services, which includes oversight of our outpatient clinics and procedural suites
Our teams consist of 120+ staff across 4 locations
Digestive health services are in high patient demand and plans to strategically expand our services are underway
The Associate Director will have immediate oversight of our Outpatient Medical Center (OPMC) Digestive Health Clinic in North Seattle, and will directly oversee the UW Medical Center Department Managers for other Bronchoscopy, Endoscopy, and GI Clinics at UW Medical Center-Montlake, OPMC, and UW Medical Center-Northwest
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Leads Digestive Health, Endoscopy, and Bronchoscopy services at UW Medical Center-Montlake, UW Medical Center-Northwest, our Outpatient Medical Center (OPMC), and our Bellevue Eastside Specialty Center
Oversees the operational, financial, and quality functions across inpatient and outpatient Digestive Health and Bronchoscopy settings
Partners with GI and Pulmonary teams at Harborview and Fred Hutch to align workflows
Develops strategic goals, financial planning, policy, and procedures to effectively lead our procedural and clinical care services lines
Implements effective strategies for the delivery and expansion of our clinics and procedural services
Directly oversees 2 Department Managers, 1 Program Operations Manager, and a clinic of 12 staff including Registered Nurses, Medical Assistants, Patient Services Specialists, and Patient Care Coordinators
Works collaboratively with nursing leaders, operations leaders, medical providers, and departments such as IT and Finance to coordinate process, patient flow, and patient access
Plans, organizes, staffs and manages the operational, financial, personnel, and administrative activities of our newly-expanded Digestive Health Clinic
Manages an operational and capital budget in partnership with the Assistant Administrator
Understands patient access and financial authorizations for our procedural interventions to ensure fiscal responsibility
Supports development and monitoring of Key Performance Indicators for the procedural units
Provides data and presentation deliverables to UW Medical Center Senior Administrative and Clinical Leadership
Develops dashboards and provides leadership with data analysis for clinical activities
REQUIREMENTS
6-8 years working in an ambulatory care or procedural care division
2-3 years leading in an ambulatory care division with operational, procedural and clinic management experience
Experience with data analysis (proficiency with Excel)
Ability to draft communications and presentations to senior healthcare leaders (proficiency with PowerPoint)
Experience with financial clearance or prior authorizations
Bachelor's Degree within healthcare or business; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Working knowledge of procedural, HLD, and clinic workflows is preferred, but not required
An equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute for stated requirements.
