Hydraulic Cylinder Technician
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented
HydraulicCylinder Technician
to join our team. This position is responsible for thetear-down, inspection, repair, reassembly, and testing of hydraulic cylindersused in various industrial and mobile equipment. The ideal candidate will havea strong mechanical aptitude, hands-on experience with hydraulic components,and a commitment to safety and quality workmanship.
Key Responsibilities:
Disassemble hydraulic cylinders for diagnostic inspection and cleaning. Inspect components such as rods, barrels, seals, pistons, and glands for wear, damage, or defects. Document findings and determine necessary repairs or replacements. Replace seals, bushings, and other internal components as needed. Reassemble hydraulic cylinders according to manufacturer specifications. Test completed cylinders for proper function and hydraulic integrity. Operate hand tools, hydraulic presses, torque wrenches, and precision measuring instruments. Accurately use and distinguish between metric and standard measurement systems. Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring compliance with safety standards. Assist with inventory control and parts ordering for hydraulic repairs. Collaborate with other technicians and supervisors to ensure job efficiency and quality. Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED; technical or trade school preferred. 2+ years of experience working with hydraulic systems or cylinder repair (preferred). Must provide own hand tools appropriate for the trade. Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and repair manuals. Familiarity with hydraulic testing equipment and safety procedures. Required: forklift operation experience and current certification (or ability to obtain prior to start date). Must have a valid driver's license to operate company vehicles, including forklifts. Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and stand for extended periods. Work Environment:
Shop setting with moderate noise levels and frequent use of heavy tools and equipment. Personal protective equipment (PPE) required. Benefits:
