Job Summary:

Deliver exceptional healthcare services by performing Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) and related procedures to produce detailed sectional anatomic images. This role requires technical expertise and compassionate patient care within a supportive clinical environment in the Midwest region.

Essential Responsibilities: Conduct MRI procedures, ensuring patient clinical history aligns with the imaging protocol and is properly documented for licensed practitioners. Prepare patients by providing clear instructions to achieve optimal imaging results while minimizing anxiety. Operate MRI equipment and accessories, selecting appropriate scanning parameters and protocols as directed by radiologists. Position and immobilize patients comfortably to capture the required anatomical areas. Apply magnet safety principles to protect patients, staff, and self from hazards. Assist licensed physicians during procedures and manage patient physical and psychological needs throughout imaging. Perform venipunctures and administer contrast media safely as prescribed. Evaluate image quality, adjust display parameters, and maintain accurate records with proper identification. Initiate basic life support when necessary and perform diagnostic radiographic procedures as needed. Educate patients and their families about tests and procedures to foster understanding and cooperation. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the imaging area, report equipment issues, and contribute to supply management. Provide practical instruction to students and healthcare professionals, and participate in quality assessment and improvement initiatives. Stay current with sterile techniques, anatomical recognition via imaging systems, and hospital policies. Record comprehensive patient histories and manage imaging media release following authorization protocols. May participate in on-call duties to provide technical support outside regular hours. Education and Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent required. Graduate of an accredited School of Radiographic Technology. Proven experience as a radiographer with knowledge to perform MRI procedures and ongoing education in cross-sectional anatomy. Computer proficiency is essential. Licensure and Certifications:

State certification as a radiologic technologist. Current R.T.(R) ARRT credential in good standing. ARRT certification as R.T.(MR) required at hire or within two years of employment.

Work Schedule:

Part-time weekend shifts, Saturday and Sunday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., with potential on-call responsibilities.
