Summary:
The Payroll Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing all payroll functions within a manufacturing environment. This role ensures accurate and timely processing of payroll, compliance with international, federal and state regulations, and coordination with HR and finance departments. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, deep knowledge of payroll systems and labor laws, and experience in a high-volume, multi-shift manufacturing, and multi-country setting.
Responsibilities:
Manage end-to-end payroll processing for hourly and salaried employees across multiple shifts, departments and countries. Ensure compliance with international, federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations, including FLSA and union agreements if applicable. Supervise payroll staff and coordinate with HR and finance teams to ensure accurate employee data and benefits deductions. Maintain and update payroll systems, including timekeeping and attendance tracking tools. Review and approve payroll changes such as promotions, terminations, garnishments, and benefit adjustments. Prepare and submit payroll reports for internal audits, finance reviews, and regulatory agencies. Resolve payroll discrepancies and respond to employee inquiries regarding pay, deductions, and tax withholdings. Implement process improvements to enhance payroll accuracy and efficiency. Stay current with changes in payroll legislation and manufacturing labor standards Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field. 5+ years of payroll experience, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting. Strong understanding of payroll systems (e.g., ADP, Kronos, SAP) and timekeeping software. International experience. Knowledge of union payroll practices and collective bargaining agreements is a plus. Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to manage confidential information with discretion. CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) certification preferred
