POSITION SUMMARY:
Workwith the Assistant Vice President of Engineering to facilitate andmanage the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority's (Aviation Authority)engineering/architecture, development projects, and programs from inceptionthrough final design, bid and award, and provide oversight through constructionand closeout. Assist with updating the Airport Capital Improvement Plan (ACIP); assist with condition assessments of the facilities. Manage the Facilities Addressing Program, Airfield Lighting Management Program, Airfield, Roadway, Sign Structures, Bridge, Facilities Inspection Programs, and other architectural and development projects. Assist in the management of the Aviation Authority's Civil Permitting Process for all on-going programs and projects. Manage Computer Aided Drafting and Design (CADD); Geographic Information Systems (GIS); Building Information Modeling (BIM) projects. Assist in the coordination with the City of Orlando Permitting Process for all on-going programs and projects. Coordinate and negotiate with Utility Companies for all on-going programs and projects. Conduct tours, give briefings and presentations related to engineering and architecture projects. Assist with assigned Planning projects; perform technical review and advice during the planning phase; provide expert feedback as needed for management evaluation and decision making on assigned projects. Assist with assigned Environmental projects; review Environmental Resource Permit applications; assist with update and maintain the Master Conceptual Drainage Plan and Permitting. Assist with assigned Construction projects from contract award to closeout; attend job coordination meetings and site visits; inspect work and ensure compliance with design standards, codes, permits and statutes as required; approve pay applications and invoices from consultants and contractors; approve project completion and closeout. Supervise employees in assigned area. Assign work; monitor hours of work and authorize time sheets; oversee quality, quantity and timeliness of work performed; confirm compliance with established policy, procedure and standards. Advise management of areas of concern and recommend solutions. Prepare and conduct performance evaluations; develop and provide training as needed. Participate in interviewing and selection of employees, and recommend disciplinary action as needed. Provide for the safety and security of the work area.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor'sdegree related to architecture, building construction, construction managementdisciplines and eight (8) years of aviation related work experience for aconsulting firm, a construction company, a public agency, or an airportauthority in managing the design and construction of small and large scaleprojects or an equivalent combination of related education, training, and workexperience. Excellent interpersonal, management, and negotiation skills Proficient in use of computers and Microsoft Office products Knowledge of architecture and construction means and methods, and management principles. Knowledge of design, estimating, project and program scheduling Ability to organize and manage multiple projects, conduct research, analyze data and formulate recommendations Demonstrated ability to deal tactfully and confidently with internal and external customers Efficient time management method Knowledge of the following areas: Computer Aided Drafting and Design (CADD); Geographic Information Systems (GIS); Building Information Modeling (BIM.) Proficient oral and written communication skills to prioritize and execute tasks to achieve both the organization and project goals Excellent attention to detail and strategic thinking Must be able and willing to work both standard and non-standard work schedules, including weekends to accommodate airport operations Valid Florida driver's license Professional Engineer, Architect, or General Contractor License is desirable Certification in a specialty subject area that may benefit the Aviation Authority is desirable BENEFITS:
