WHAT THIS ROLE WILL BE DOING:

The Senior Distribution Manager's primary functions are to provide operational development and hands on leadership to improve distribution effectiveness, standardization, and leadership/support staff training. This position will provide objective assessments for identified areas, develop action plans, and training needs for underperforming and/or improvement initiatives. Training management and support staff on SOP's, reporting tools, systems, and best practices will be conducted on a continued basis across the distribution network. Additionally, this manager is responsible for coordination of emergency recovery support and/or backup support to DC's during times of critical need.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (not limited to) Analyze locations current operational practices and labor force qualifications. Investigate shortfalls, issues, and complaints in current operational processes. Provide documented plan of action to correct inefficient practices and training deficiencies. Establish shared best practices and standardized operational expectations. Communicate discovery and actions to Region Distribution Manager(s) and Distribution Manager(s) as appropriate. Provide training and guidance on new/updated SOP's. Use current reports to make guidance decisions and changes to warehouse and office operations.

Productivity within Warehouse (orders shipped, errors, transactions, etc.) Drivers' performance (miles per gallon, idle time %, etc.)

Ensure robust communications among affected departments in support of corrective actions and improvement plans. Lead performance improvements for Continuous Improvement (C.I.) 5S journey to establish and maintain a positive and CLEAN work environment. Monitor, maintain, and enforce all SAFETY Regular communication with the Regional Distribution Manager and VP of Distribution. All other tasks as assigned by Management. A DISTRIBUTION MANAGER WILL POSSESS AND DEMONSTRATE:

Lead and promote safety culture which aligns with Wausau Supply Co. core values. Monitor and ensure operational metrics are achieved. Continuously evaluate ways to improve the accuracy and efficiencies of the warehouses and their operations. Seek expertise/best practices to evaluate and implement across distribution network. Ability to manage multiple demands while maintaining solid communication skills both verbally and written. Ability to work independently while demonstrating leadership skills that portray excellent teamwork mentality. Overall safety mindset is crucial to create an imbedded culture of safety within the employee population. Problem solving and innovative solutions to eliminate obstacles. Dynamic self-motivation and ability to work a flexible schedule. Ability to maintain positive morale within the workforce. Education / Experience:

Associates or Bachelors degree in Supply Chain, Management, or Finance. Or equivalent combination of education and experience. 5 to 10+ years manufacturing, warehouse, or material handling experience.

3 to 5+ years manufacturing or warehouse leadership and supervisory experience. Logistics and transportation management experience to support a fleet of tractor/trailers preferred but not required. Knowledge of Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMSCA) and Department of Transportation (DOT) rules and guidelines preferred but not required.

Excellent, data-driven analytical skills required. Excellent ERP systems skills Proficient in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Office 365. Working Demands / Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds. Ability to stand/bend/walk for long periods of time. Ability to drive or fly for long periods of time. Ability to travel up 50-60% to locations on a regular basis to support, mentor and monitor location teams' performance. Extended travel stays may be required including weekends to aid site startups, recovery efforts, or backup support.
