As a Senior Mainframe Systems Architect, you will play a crucial role in shaping technical solutions through the development of Low Level Design (LLD) documents and your expertise will support our Sales and Solution Architecture teams. Your interactions with new clients will involve identifying project components essential for Client Onboarding and Migrations. You will also manage end-to-end server builds, oversee upgrades for DB2 on zOS, and support associated ISV products while promoting a seamless transition of clients' in-house IT to Ensono's support.
Your Key Responsibilities:
Support one or more clients by applying maintenance and performing upgrades for DB2.
Upgrade and provide support for ISV software associated with DB2.
Test and monitor existing DB2 workloads after OS or CPU upgrades.
Collaborate with clients to troubleshoot database-related issues.
Engage with new clients during onboarding, participating in Knowledge Transfer and shadowing processes.
Work within a team of mainframe professionals to transition clients to Ensono's support.
Troubleshoot and resolve DB2 database system and software issues.
Utilize your working knowledge of WLM environment as it relates to DB2.
Exhibit strong competencies in DB2 Utilities, TSO, and FTP.
Demonstrate a thorough understanding of SMP/E and its critical role in installation processes.
Note: This is a project-based position and does not require 24/7 on-call support.
What We Are Looking For: A minimum of five years of experience in a z/OS environment, with familiarity in areas such as z/OS Operating System, Storage, Databases, CICS, and Disaster Recovery concepts.
Technical expertise in implementing DB2 on zOS and related ISV software products.
Experience with SMP/E for both base installation and maintenance of DB2 and ISV software.
Proficient in collaborating with ISV vendors for problem determination and resolution.
Familiarity with ISV products such as CA database tools, IBM database tools, Sysview, Omegamon, and Mainview.
Strong communication skills to host meetings and conference calls.
Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple projects effectively.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel for creating shareable client documents.
Experience supporting DB2 zOS from a Systems or DBA perspective is essential.
Knowledge of CICS or zOS Operating System is advantageous.
Proven experience with upgrading DB2 zOS.
Understanding of DB2 connect and Security exits.
Familiarity with DB2 data sharing in a SYSPLEX environment.
Experience with extracting information from DB2 logs and conducting DB2 Database system recovery.

This position offers a competitive salary range of $80,000 to $150,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
