Overview:

MasTec Civil is expanding and is seeking a Director of Alternative Delivery for our transportation infrastructure team. This pivotal role is essential in leading the strategic planning, pursuit, and execution of our transportation infrastructure projects through innovative delivery methods such as Design-Build (DB), Public-Private Partnerships (P3), and Construction Manager-at-Risk (CMAR). The Director will play a crucial role in driving innovation, managing risks, and ensuring the successful delivery of complex projects, including highways, bridges, transit systems, and multimodal corridors. This position can be hybrid, with a preference for candidates based in our MasTec Civil offices near Miami, FL, Nashville, TN, or Charlotte, NC. About MasTec Civil:

Key Responsibilities: Identify and assess alternative delivery opportunities in the transportation sector. Evaluate and vet potential joint venture partners, design consultants, and key subcontractors for specific projects. Lead proposal development, establish teaming strategies, and conduct contract negotiations. Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability within the team. Serve as the primary contact for clients and contractors during the pursuit and implementation phases. Oversee the entire lifecycle of alternative delivery transportation projects from concept through closeout. Guide project teams in developing technical solutions, schedules, and budgets aligned with client objectives. Ensure compliance with transportation agency standards and regulations. Collaborate with legal, financial, and technical experts to craft winning proposals. Represent the organization at public forums, industry conferences, and stakeholder meetings. Lead innovative design development phases and collaborate with project teams on alternative technical concepts. Identify project risks and opportunities associated with contract language, market conditions, resources, design scope, and construction methods. Coordinate with internal departments including estimating, safety, quality, operations, and accounting. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field. Strong leadership, negotiation, and communication skills. A minimum of 15 years of experience in transportation infrastructure project delivery. Proven success with alternative delivery methods (DB, P3, CMAR) in the transportation sector. Comprehensive understanding of transportation funding mechanisms, procurement processes, and regulatory frameworks. Preferred Experience: Experience working with state Departments of Transportation (DOTs), transit agencies, and federal transportation programs. Experience with large-scale highway, rail, or bridge projects.
