Maintenance Mechanic (Floater)
Full Time
We currently have an opening for a Full Time Maintenance Mechanic to support our clinics in the west region of DFW.
Select Medical complies with state and federal wage and hour laws.
Compensation depends upon candidate's years of experience and internal equity.
Starting pay: $20/hr
Responsibilities A Maintenance Mechanic performs general mechanical and preventive tasks. Inspects, services, repairs and overhauls physical plant equipment as directed. Duties are performed in relation with patient and employee safety. Enhances the patient/employee experience by maintaining and improving the environment.
Employees in this position will:
Carry out routine and specific assignments to ensure that the physical plant and assigned equipment are safe operating condition and in compliance with applicable company policies and with regulatory and/or accrediting codes and specifications. Including:
Inspects and completes repairs as documented in the “Nursing Maintenance Request” logbook on a daily basis.
Test emergency generators and equipment as directed.
Inspects Hospital plumbing, including, faucets, toilets and showers and makes repairs asnecessary on a daily basis.
Inspects water softener levels and adds salt as needed.
Inspects Hospital finishes and makes repairs to ceiling tiles, floors, walls, etc.
Performs painting and carpentry work as assigned.
Repairs and maintains HVAC equipment.
Performs electrical work under the supervision of the Manager.
Assures that all electrical tests are fully documented and that records are kept current.
Requisitions outside materials as needed.
Performs snow removal and salting operations on walkways, driveways, and parking lots.
Participates in a twenty-four hours/seven day a week mechanic on-call schedule.
Adheres to Hospital Infection Control policy and procedures.
Assists outside contractors as directed.
Performs other duties as requested
Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent required. Trade or vocational school background preferred.
Comprehensive knowledge of maintenance, repair, and safety procedures required.
