Role Overview

We're seeking a proactive and compassionate

Benefits & Leave Manager

to lead the strategy, administration, and evolution of our employee benefits and wellness programs. This role is essential to supporting our diverse workforce-from greenhouse and farm teams to office staff-by ensuring access to meaningful, competitive, and compliant offerings that enhance well-being and engagement.

Key Responsibilities Benefits Strategy & Administration

Oversee all health, dental, vision, life, and disability plans, including vendor management and renewals. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations (ACA, ERISA, HIPAA, COBRA, FMLA, etc.) Lead annual open enrollment, employee communications, and benefits education initiatives Serve as the primary point of contact for benefits-related escalations and issue resolutions Educate employees on benefits and company perks through ongoing communication

Wellness & Engagement

Design and implement wellness programs that promote physical, mental, and financial well-being Partner with internal teams and external vendors to deliver workshops, challenges, and resources Monitor program participation and impact, using data to refine offerings

Leave & Accommodation Management

Manage leave programs including FMLA and short-term disability, in partnership with 3rd party vendor, and employee personal leaves Coordinate accommodations in compliance with ADA and company policies

HR Systems & Reporting

Maintain accurate benefits data in HRIS systems, including electronic weekly file feeds Generate reports for compliance, audits, and leadership insights Reconcile monthly carrier invoices Complete quarterly audits of benefit providers systems and HRIS Manage employee benefits self-service platform

Management

Coach and guide direct report, HR team members, managers, and employees on compliant benefit and leave processes Set clear expectations, deliver regular feedback, and monitor progress to ensure goal alignment of direct report

What You Bring

5+ years of experience managing employee benefits and wellness programs Strong knowledge of benefits compliance and administration Excellent communication, empathy, and problem-solving skills Experience in manufacturing or agriculture environments is a plus Why Join Us

Job Setting & Physical Demands

Employees in this position work primarily indoors but may be required to ambulate between locations within a large outdoor environment. The role is sedentary, however some administrative duties such as filing are required. This would require the ability to lift files, open cabinets, walk, bend, or stand, as necessary. To perform the job successfully the candidate must be able to use a computer and other standard office equipment such as phones, copiers, fax machines, etc. Fluency in the English language and the ability to see, speak, hear, read, and write are required. The ability to travel by all means of transportation to meet business needs is required, such as driving and riding in a golf cart around the facility. Work hours may fluctuate to accommodate seasonal work requirements and occasional support and training for evening and/or weekend shift employees. The ability to lift up to 35 pounds unassisted is required.
