About the Role
We are seeking a versatile and ambitious
Senior Client Accounting Services (CAS) Advisor
to join our growing public accounting firm. This unique role blends
controller-level advisory
(budgets, forecasts, KPIs, client financial reviews) with
hands-on CAS responsibilities
(oversight of reconciliations, reporting packages, and system/process improvements).
The ideal candidate will be comfortable stepping into client-facing advisory conversations while still rolling up their sleeves to ensure accurate, timely accounting deliverables. As our CAS department expands, this position offers significant opportunities for growth, leadership, and long-term impact.
Key Responsibilities Advisory & Controllership
Develop client budgets, forecasts, and KPI dashboards
Lead monthly/quarterly financial review meetings with clients
Provide data-driven insights and recommendations to business owners/executives
Mentor CAS team members on financial analysis and reporting best practices
Oversight & Hands-On Support
Review reconciliations, reporting packages, and financial statements (balance sheet, P&L, cash flow)
Troubleshoot accounting system issues and ensure clean, accurate client books
Step in on transactional tasks (AP/AR, payroll entries, catch-up work) when necessary to maintain client service standards
Oversee deliverables from AI/outsourced teams, ensuring accuracy and efficiency
Client & Process Management
Act as a trusted advisor and point-of-contact for assigned clients
Conduct onboarding for new CAS clients, ensuring smooth transitions
Identify opportunities for process automation and workflow improvements
Collaborate with internal team members across service lines to deliver comprehensive solutions
Qualifications 5–7+ years of progressive experience in public accounting, controllership, or client services (CAS/outsourced accounting strongly preferred) Strong proficiency in accounting platforms (QuickBooks Online required; Xero/Sage/other experience a plus) Experience preparing budgets, forecasts, KPI dashboards, and presenting financials to management Solid knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or advanced certification a plus) QBO Advanced Certification preferred Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills Strong client-facing communication and interpersonal skills Comfortable managing multiple client accounts and shifting priorities in a fast-growing department Additional Requirements: Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for local client visits Flexibility to occasionally work extended hours during peak periods Commitment to maintaining client confidentiality and professional ethics Schedule can be hybrid, but candidate must be local to conduct client site visits ✨ This role is designed for someone ready to
bridge the gap between high-level advisory and hands-on CAS work , with the career runway to grow into a future CAS Controller or Manager.
