Financial Controller – Multi-Client & CAS Operations
We are seeking a highly organized, detail-driven Controller
to oversee accounting operations across multiple client portfolios within our Client Accounting Services (CAS) division. The ideal candidate combines
strong technical accounting knowledge
with
excellent client management skills , ensuring consistent financial accuracy, process efficiency, and strategic insight across diverse industries and firms.
This role bridges
bookkeeping, financial control, and advisory —ideal for a professional comfortable managing
multiple accounting teams, client relationships, and reporting systems
simultaneously.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee the full accounting cycle for multiple client entities (GL, AP/AR, payroll, reconciliations, and month-end close).
Review and finalize client financial statements, management reports, and cash‑flow forecasts.
Implement internal controls, financial procedures, and best practices across all client accounts.
Ensure consistent accounting standards (GAAP/IFRS) across multiple client firms.
Serve as the
primary financial contact
for assigned clients—responding promptly, advising proactively.
Coordinate with client leadership and external accountants/auditors for year‑end processes.
Translate complex financial data into actionable business insights.
Supervise and mentor bookkeepers, junior accountants, and staff across multiple engagements.
Optimize workflow through automation tools (QuickBooks Online, Xero, Dext, Gusto, or similar).
Review deliverables for accuracy, timeliness, and consistency across all client accounts.
Support process improvements and cross‑firm collaboration.
Contribute to client onboarding, standardization, and scaling of CAS services.
Qualifications
CPA, CA, or CMA designation (or in progress) required.
CPG/e‑commerce experience required.
5+ years of accounting experience, with at least 1 year in a Controller or senior accounting leadership role.
Experience managing multiple entities or clients simultaneously (CAS, outsourcing, or multi‑firm environments).
Strong understanding of US and/or Canadian GAAP, financial controls, and reporting cycles.
Proficiency with accounting software (QuickBooks, Xero, NetSuite, or similar) and reporting tools (Excel, Power BI, Fathom).
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to explain complex data clearly to non‑finance stakeholders.
Strong time management, problem‑solving, and leadership abilities.
