We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Revenue Assistant Controller to become an integral part of our finance team. This vital role will focus on optimizing our revenue recognition processes in the fast-paced cryptocurrency environment. The perfect candidate will have a profound understanding of ASC 606 (or IFRS 15), outstanding analytical abilities, and a zest for the digital asset sector. You will ensure the precision and integrity of our financial reporting as we expand our innovative offerings, while also contributing to the development of scalable processes, solid internal controls, and insightful financial analyses for our burgeoning institutional products.
Key Responsibilities:
Direct the application of ASC 606/IFRS 15 to intricate crypto-centric transactions (such as spot trading fees, staking rewards, NFT royalties, etc.).
Create and uphold robust revenue recognition and reporting protocols specialized for crypto products and services.
Ensure timely and precise recording of revenue transactions in line with GAAP/IFRS and organizational policies.
Oversee month-end and quarter-end closing activities including journal entries, reconciliations, and variance assessments.
Collaborate with product, engineering, and data teams to guarantee accurate revenue accounting treatment for new product deployments.
Identify and execute enhancements to revenue systems, processes, and controls, utilizing blockchain data and automation technologies.
Establish and monitor internal controls over revenue cycles to assure SOX compliance and diminish risk factors.
Support internal and external audit inquiries while keeping abreast of evolving accounting standards and best practices within the crypto domain.
Lead and mentor the Revenue team, promoting interdepartmental collaboration and developing junior members.
Participate in or lead special projects related to financial infrastructure, product launches, and strategic initiatives.
What We Are Looking For: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
Active CPA designation.
10+ years of advancing experience in accounting, with a minimum of 4-5 years specifically focused on revenue recognition (ASC 606/IFRS 15) in a financial institution.
Proven track record of interpreting and applying complex accounting guidelines to practical business scenarios, particularly in dynamic industries.
Robust analytical capabilities, with the ability to convert complex data into actionable strategies.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the capability to clarify complex accounting concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
Highly organized with keen attention to detail, capable of juggling multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Experience with SOX compliance within financial service settings.
Proficiency in ERP systems (like NetSuite, SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel capabilities. Familiarity with data visualization tools is advantageous.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience in high-growth startups or tech companies.
Familiarity with blockchain analytics tools or crypto-specific accounting software.
Knowledge of international revenue recognition and foreign currency considerations.
In-depth understanding and practical experience with digital assets, blockchain technology, and cryptocurrency markets, including various crypto protocols, DeFi concepts, and typical digital asset applications.
