Job Title: Interventional Radiology Technologist Profession: Healthcare Specialty: Interventional Radiology Duration: 13 weeks Shift: PM Hours per Shift: 8 hours Experience: 2 years of Interventional Radiology/Cath Lab experience preferred License: ARRT Certifications: BLS Must-Have: - Proficient in performing high-quality interventional radiology procedures - Knowledge of infection control, drug and radiation policies - Experience with sterile techniques and multi-modality procedures Description: The Interventional Radiology Technologist performs interventional radiology procedures on patients as requested by a physician or other licensed provider. This role involves maintaining high production and imaging quality by following established standards and protocols. Utilizes effective communication techniques to ensure patient service requirements are met and to establish rapport with patients and their families. Instructs patients on the procedure to be performed and assesses their ability to tolerate the exam. Prepares patients and the work area for procedures by positioning patients, adjusting immobilization devices, and preparing equipment. Adheres to safety requirements and infection-control policies to protect patients and staff. Maintains a clean and operational work area and reports any equipment issues to management. Screens individuals entering the department according to approved procedures and maintains all relevant documentation. Ensures medical imaging records are maintained according to departmental standards in a timely manner. Possesses the ability to perform procedures independently and maintains a calm demeanor under stress. Demonstrates current knowledge in patient care across various age groups and serves as a preceptor for new team members. Availability for call duty when required is essential for this role.
