About the Role
We are seeking an experienced
Multifamily Estimator
to join our growing preconstruction team in Charlotte, NC. This position will play a critical role in developing detailed cost estimates for large-scale multifamily and mixed-use developments.
The ideal candidate has a strong background in
multifamily construction
and experience estimating
low-voltage, fire alarm, and life-safety systems , in addition to traditional building trades. This individual will support the team in delivering accurate budgets, promoting value engineering, and driving cost efficiency across all project phases.
Preconstruction & Estimating Prepare conceptual, schematic, design development, and GMP estimates for multifamily and mixed-use projects. Perform detailed quantity takeoffs and cost breakdowns across all CSI divisions, including low-voltage, electrical, and fire/life-safety systems. Evaluate and scope subcontractor bids for accuracy, completeness, and alignment with project documents. Build and maintain project-specific unit cost data and historical cost databases. Identify cost-saving opportunities through value engineering and system optimization. Collaborate with MEP design consultants and low-voltage system vendors to ensure accurate pricing and coordination.
Low-Voltage, Fire & Life-Safety Systems Review and estimate costs for
fire alarm ,
security ,
access control ,
CCTV ,
data/communication ,
intercom , and
smoke control
systems. Coordinate with MEP trades and fire protection contractors to ensure system compatibility and scope clarity. Stay current on
NFPA ,
IBC , and
local Denver Fire Department
code requirements affecting system design and pricing. Evaluate alternate manufacturers, system architectures, and integration strategies for performance and budget optimization.
Collaboration & Communication Partner with project managers, superintendents, and design teams to align scope, schedule, and cost objectives. Participate in design and constructability reviews, providing cost feedback during development. Develop and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and system integrators. Support preparation of bid packages, proposals, and internal cost reporting.
