Job Description Eurofins Built Environment Testing is searching for an experienced Asbestos Analyst in Folsom, CA. The Analyst primarily performs PLM-based microscopy on bulk samples and prepares and analyzes environmental samples following scientific methodology and company quality assurance programs. The role involves data validation, LIMS data entry, workload scheduling, and technical support to clients and team members.

Asbestos Analyst Responsibilities

Prepare and analyse aerobiological and environmental samples for asbestos.

Accurately enter and report analytical data using LIMS.

Perform independent data reviews for other analysts’ work.

Perform analysis of reference materials, proficiency samples and other quality control samples as needed.

Maintain client service and provide technical support as required.

Assist the QA manager in developing, implementing and collecting data for QA processes for analytical tests.

Confirm lab results as needed by client services personnel.

Perform and complete all analytical testing and QA related tasks as needed.

Assist in pursuing, receiving and maintaining necessary laboratory accreditations.

Maintain and update all necessary training and QA documents onsite.

Coordinate and manage projects according to rush status and due dates for timely delivery.

Assist coworkers on analytical questions as necessary.

Participate in Lean initiatives as needed.

Follow company policies and procedures and ensure coworkers do the same.

Manage and maintain the inventory of re-sale supply items and laboratory consumables; reorder supplies as needed.

Manage and dispose of analyzed samples as needed.

Provide training support for relevant analytical services (mycology, bacteriology, asbestos, etc.) as needed.

Recommend and coordinate sample transfer as necessary.

Establish and maintain laboratory stock, culture and reference samples.

Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for errors and issues as necessary.

Maintain all equipment properly and coordinate servicing of all laboratory equipment.

Routinely communicate available capacity to Regional Manager.

Support other departments within the lab (mycology, asbestos, bacteriology, and others) when appropriate and as needed.

Other responsibilities as deemed necessary by the Supervisor/Manager.

Qualifications

1+ year(s) of experience performing asbestos microscopy.

Bachelor’s degree in microbiology, biology, geology or a closely related science.

Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship.

Professional working proficiency in English, including reading, writing and speaking.

Shift: Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm. Weekend and overtime may be required.

The Ideal Candidate Would Also Possess

8 units of Microbiology courses (preferred).

General regulatory requirements knowledge.

Knowledge of computers, spreadsheets and databases.

Strong computer, scientific and organizational skills.

Compensation Hourly rate: $22–$26 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications. Sign‑on bonus available for qualified candidates with PLM experience.
