Job Description Our Aerospace Manufacturing Client is looking for a Mechanical Inspector to join their Manufacturing department based in Mobile, AL. This Quality Inspector will perform all defined Quality Inspections up to product delivery. The Inspector is responsible for red flagging all deviations which occur on product, equipment, and tools, verifying that the industrial environment, facilities, hardware & tools meet operations & safety requirements.

Responsibilities

Contribute to investigations and root cause analysis into reported quality issues from the business team and customer, ensuring appropriate containment and corrective actions through multifunctional teams.

Perform Quality Inspections as per defined standards, Final Check and Attestation, Stop Points, out-of-sequence work, including critical activities (when not delegated).

Ensure operational surveillance of people, product and process.

Provide feedback and coaching to Operations & Support Functions on quality issues and observations from operational surveillance.

Carry out predictive quality activities and coaching to operations.

Inspect, attest and conduct surveillance, including PPS, FOD prevention, non-conformity management, and serve as the go‑to person on the shop floor for quality issues.

Support process improvement, investigations, root cause analysis, foreign object damage prevention, and non-conformance opening/closure where appropriate.

Commit to integrity and awareness of potential compliance risks as the foundation for the Company’s success and sustainability.

Qualifications

2 years of experience in an aviation company, focusing on mechanical and/or structural components and assemblies.

Preferred experience in a Quality Inspector position.

Knowledge of Quality Management Systems.

Knowledge of drawing systems, inspection plans and inspection coordination.

Knowledge of production line principles, practices, methods and tools.

Experience using inspection tools for length measuring techniques (mechanical, electrical).

Relevant Airline/Aviation experience is desirable.

High school diploma or GED.

Preferred: FAA Airframe & Powerplant license, an A&P license including inspection authorization.

Additional Information This position is a temporary (contract) role with no specific time period but could be extended or shortened as needed.
