Position Overview This Adjunct faculty member will teach courses in Ballet and/or Modern Dance techniques and may also choreograph and direct high school and college students in choreographic works. Experience or knowledge in Anatomy and Kinesiology, Dance Composition and Improvisation, and other dance academics is desirable. Courses may be taught in various modalities including In-Person, Live, Online, and Blended.
Responsibilities
Teach lecture and laboratory sections
Evaluate and advise students
Participate in departmental and college affairs
Develop curricula
Recruit students
Serve on committees
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Master's degree in Dance from a regionally accredited institution, or a Master's degree and 18 graduate credit hours in Dance
Professional dance experience preferred
Professional level dance teaching experience preferred
Possess excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
Ability to work well with students, faculty, staff and the community, including high school, college and university level students
Ability to work in a multi-ethnic/multicultural environment
Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include evening and weekend assignments
